Dr. Subramanian Swamy reveals the plot to destroy Ram Setu with RDX explosives. In an interview with Ishkaran Singh Bhandari, Dr. Swamy refers to events of 2004. He describes how the ancient structure created by Lord Rama and his army was narrowly saved from destruction at the 11th hour. An attempt was made in 2004 to quietly authorize a canal to by blasted through Ram Setu as a path for ocean going vessels. Mere days before the historical monument was to be set to explosives, a stay on the destruction was finally granted. Now, the petition to declare Lord Rama’s Setu as a National Historical Monument sits before the court pending counter argument. “Not only Ram Setu must be saved but it should be given a National Heritage status so that no future government can touch it.” “Which is now what is pending before the Hon’ble Supreme Court.” “Yes. But also the maintenance, improvement, tourism. Ram Setu is now at least 7000 years old according to geologists.” “And the stone by which it is made, that you cannot find in the ocean, because it is a choral.” “And chorals are only found on the coast – so somebody has brought it there and put it.” “So the scientists of the Geological Survey of India, of the Government of India have said that” “These stones which are there in the Ram Setu have been brought from somewhere, from the coast.” “Who brought them and all- “We can’t say”, But we know from Ramayana, Valmiki that” “Hanuman brought it and put the stone and it started floating. This also starts floating – the moment you take out the stone it starts floating!” Along with Ram Janmabhoomi, Ram Setu is a vital and important part of the great heritage of Sanatana Hindu Dharma and India.
