Violence continues to be reported from Delhi as we cross more than 80 days since the Citizenship Amendment Act was passed in the Indian Parliament and the opposing sit-in protest at Shaheen Bagh began. Responding to Violence in Delhi (CAA, NRC)

On December 11, 2019 the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) was passed by the Parliament of India. It is intended to offer Indian citizenship to certain persecuted religious minorities who had fled to India from neighbouring countries of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. Along with CAA is the National Register of Citizens (NRC) intended to document all legal citizens of India.
