In one more example of a befallen Hindu Temple, last month The 180-year-old Sri Anjaneya Temple in Bengaluru was demolished to make way for the Bengaluru-Hosur national highway. When questioned about diverting road construction around the temple, an official of the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) replied, “We will have to acquire an additional 30 properties to do that.” A service road will replace the now-demoilshed 180-year-old temple which saw 1000 devotees visiting each Saturday.
