A cyber complaint has been filed with the Maharashtra police by the activist group “Legal Rights Observatory” against the Wall Street Journal. The group is demanding an apology and withdrawal for false claims published February 26. The Wall Street Journal published an article commenting on the February 25 Delhi rioting and murder of Intelligence Bureau constable Ankit Sharma. On December 11, 2019 the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) was passed by the Parliament of India. It is intended to offer Indian citizenship to certain persecuted religious minorities who had fled to India from neighbouring countries of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh.
